Triumph Events

17 Feb 19—Annual SLTOA Polar Bear Run.  Traditional kick-off event for the driving/show season, open to all cars/clubs.  Meet at 9:30 AM at the State Farm parking lot in Columbia Center, immediately south of the McDonalds on IL 3 in Columbia.  Cars roll at 10 AM for a flats and hills run to Chester, IL, and lunch at Reid’s Harvest House.  Afterwards, Illinois participants can return home by the route of their choice; Missouri drivers can cross the river to Perryville for a high-speed return via I-55 or via US 61 through Ste Genevieve.  Monitor www.sltoa.org for late updates and additional information.

21 Apr 19MG-Triumph Challenge X for the British Leyland Trophy, in association with the 58th Annual Forest Park Easter Concours, hosted by the Horseless Carriage Club of Missouri.  At the Muny upper lot, details to follow, get those Triumphs ready.

24-27 Apr 19—Annual South Central VTR confab, at the Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, TX.  This year’s event highlights the debut of the Wedge 45 years ago; the activities include a Funkhana, Gimmick Rally over North Texas backroads, an autocross, Triumph historical walking rally plus a 1974-appropriate costume contest at Thursday night’s Welcome Party.  Registration and schedule at http://redrivertriumphclub.org/2019-registration-home/.

6-11 Oct 19—VTR National 2019, hosted by the Hill Country Triumph Club of Austin, TX, in Dripping Springs, the heart of the Texas Hill Country.  Scenic drives filled with yucca, prickly pear, desert spoon and wildflowers (not to mention a few cows along the way) await you.  As our club president says, “It ain’t a drive ‘til you cross a cattle guard and low water crossing.”  Plan on a unique food, beer and wine experience, plus a run to Luckenbach.  More details to follow, registration now available at http://hillcountrytriumphclub.org/vtr2019/.

16 Mar 19—Jaguar Association of Greater St Louis Driving Tour, to Elephant Rocks State Park and High Valley Angus Ranch.  Meet at 8:30 AM at the St Louis BreadCo, MO 21/Tesson and Kennerly Ferry (two blocks west of I-270, behind the Walgreens), first car off at 9 AM. Figure on 45 minutes at the state park, then a short dash over to Ironton for a private buffet lunch at Baylee Joe’s BBQ.  After lunch, we’re offering a bonus optional rally down to Arcadia for a visit to the High Valley Angus Ranch, where owners Colleen and Dan Jarvis will offer a tour of their 9000-square-foot log home and, weather permitting, a hayride tour of their ranch.  There will be a $5 per car entry fee, plus $15 for lunch, which includes soft drinks and dessert; all fees will be collected at the BreadCo during registration, please bring cash.  Please RSVP to either Jim Hendrix at lhendrix@curtispack.com (314)406-5412 or Phil Taxman at ssjagman@aol.com (314)761-5913.  Monitor www.jagstl.com for information on the restaurant and meal choices.
