Late Breaking News

Jamestown Mall has penciled SLTOA in to show our cars on the weekend of June 10th & 11th. They have invited us back under the same terms as last year, so we will need several people to volunteer to show their cars. Please come to the meeting on May 16 for more details. If you can't make the meeting but you can show your car, contact Arlie King (636) 677-0545 to volunteer and for show and time details.

April 18, 2000 Meeting Minutes By Bonnie David

Meeting was held at McNulty’s at West Port.

Old Business:

VTR (Vintage Triumph Register) insurance was paid for the year 2000

Spring Picnic – Because May is such a busy month the picnic and meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20th. The park location and RSVP information will be in the next newsletter. The club will provide meat, buns, and drinks. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish to go with hamburgers and hot dogs. We will have a SWAP-MEET at the picnic, bring your extra parts and plan to swap and shop. {Editor’s note: Reservations have been made for DesPeres Park at Ballas just north of Manchester. We will RSVP to Bonnie David by June 13th so that the correct amount of picnic supplies can be bought. If you have parts to trade or if you want to help get the fires started, this will probably start around 5:00 PM. All this information will probably be repeated in the next newsletter. But you’ve got it all now in case it isn’t.}

Mid-Missouri All British Car & Cycle Meet, Columbia, MO – This event is being held Sat, May 20 and Sun. May 21. Several members are going to attend. If you are interested and need a Registration Form call Bonnie David (636-949-0825) and she will send you a copy. {Editor’s note: This is Bonnie’s business phone too, so when she answers "Resurfacing Plus", you’ve got the right number.}

Champagne British Car Festival – The date of course is May 26-28 and is held in Champagne-Urbana, IL. Contact Gary Brown at 309-663-5372 or garysmgb@aol.com for information and registration forms. Several members are planning to go from SLTOA. If you want to drive as a group, a place to meet will be decided at the May meeting.

Upcoming Drives – Remember to check the Newsletter and the Web Page for future "Drive" information. www.umsl.edu/~itcbborg/sltoa.htm

Muffler and Brake Session – Because of date conflicts this event will be held some time in June. Watch the Newsletter for the exact date and time. Mark Trebacz will host the session at his shop in Washington, MO. Possible dates at this time are the 17th or 24th after 12:00 noon. Members will plan to meet and drive out together, possibly stopping at Dennis Wilson’s along the way. {Editor's note: The Jamestown Mall show dates have caused us to consider another date not so close to the show. Stay tuned.}

Easter Car Show – Persons going to the show in Forest Park on Easter Sunday will meet at the new McDonalds restaurant at 44 & Hampton at 9:00 AM.

Spring Tune-up – This annual event will be held on Saturday, April 22 at Keith Bester’s, 115 N. Sappington.

Jamestown Mall Show – Plans are still being made for this event, it will probably be held in July. The Mall is still looking at dates for us. More info later.

VTR Convention – Be thinking about going to Portland, OR in August for this annual event. Contact Dave Massey if you are interested in going.

New Business

St. Louis Rally Club – This club has invited SLTOA to join them on their rides. If someone would like to be the co-ordinator for these events please let Arlie know.

Next Meeting – The May meeting will be held at McNulty’s in WestPort, Tuesday the 16th at 7:00 PM.
