Make your reservation by mailing your check made out to St. Louis Triumph Owners Association or SLTOA and mail it to our treasurer Bonnie David at 500 Marie Dr., St. Charles, MO 63301-0500. If you have procrastinated till it is too late to mail a check, call Bonnie to reserve your spot at the party. Then pay her when you get there. Her number is 636-949-0825. Since this is she and Jacks business and home phone number she usually answers as “Resurfacing Plus”. Note: The club will pay for a minimum of 35 guests to reserve the room. So sign up to make sure we don’t waste club money! ;-)
Cash bar will be at 7:30 PM. Dinner at 8:00 PM. Following dinner we will have our traditional Trash & Treasure auction. Every guest or couple brings a couple of gifts. One nice gift (a treasure) and one gag give (the trash). Most people usually add something a little nice like a can of peanuts to the trash gift so it is not a complete disappointment to the poor auction winner.
Somewhere before, after, or in between we will have our monthly meeting.
Arrive early and stay late to enjoy the warm friendship of fellow members!
The hibernation season is in full swing. Not much to do and not much to say other than sweet dreams. See you in January. Dave

Dear Triumph Club:
The 2005 TRA – Bigger, Better, and Uncut
NEVER BEFORE has the TRA been held west of the Mississippi River, and NEVER BEFORE has there been a participants’ choice show at the TRA with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for all classes of cars entered.
The 2005 annual TRA national convention will be held in Branson, MO, from Thursday, June 23 through Sunday, June 26, 2005, and is being sponsored by the Texas Triumph Register of Houston, TX. For those of you who have never been, or feel that it’s been too long of a drive, now’s your opportunity to attend. And because of the expansion of the participant’s choice show, this is an event for ALL Triumph owners, not just TR2, TR3, and TR4 owners.
We’re planning many events, drives, shows, and on-your-own options for everyone’s interests, including:
The traditional TRA concours show for TR2’s through TR4A’s
A complete participant’s choice show for all Triumphs with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
awards for all registered classes of competition
A paddlewheel riverboat ride, dinner, and show
A welcome dinner and events
An awards banquet with door prizes
The many shows, dining, attractions, and shopping of Branson, MO
A poker run and rally
An autorama
A funkana
A winery drive and tour
A breakfast run and rally
The beautiful weather of Branson, MO in late June
We have chosen a host hotel in Branson and have already negotiated an unbelievable price of $40 per night with them for all TRA attendees. The actual schedule, costs, and details will be provided soon, but it’s time to start planning this event, so put it on your calendars for Thursday, June 23 through Sunday, June 26, 2005. Branson, MO is a vacation destination for the whole family, so start making your plans now!
We look forward to seeing many new faces and many new cars that will take advantage of this location and expanded events.
Year 2004 is coming to a close. I hope you had time to enjoy driving your L.B.C. Club members gathered for various activities this year including meetings at members’ homes, car shows and rallies, drives to state parks, wineries and more wineries, restaurants, rides on ferries and trains, and the road trip from Hannibal to Poplar Bluff. The weather was unbelievably perfect much of August and September for top down, flat out driving. I really enjoyed the scenery on the country drives, but also liked the beautiful homes on the back roads of West County with big horse pastures and lovely old and new barns.
In reviewing the fun drives we have shared, my favorite was the Portland Place Mansion Tour back in July. As a lover of old homes for their charm, exquisite architectural details, long history and rich character, this drive was high on my list. I was interested from the time I learned of the first Portland Place tour several years ago. A collection of seven or eight cars slowly passed by and gawked at the old mansions while the residents looked in awe at our cars -- a very fair trade. The day was filled with clouds and some rain, but by 5:00 p.m., the skies cleared and we enjoyed a mini parade under the stars. It would be hard to forget the smaller children waiting at the entrance with flags waving. Next time, we will have Dave Massey serenade us with bagpipes. The evening was topped with frozen custard from another St. Louis classic, Ted Drewes. This event could be an annual affair.

The frame is rotten, but I have a rust-free replacement. The overdrive and transmission were professionally rebuilt by Bill Boemler. I have an engine that could be built or a used engine that might be ready to go. Asking $3500. But it will sell for what I can get for it, so don’t be afraid to make an offer.
